To do this properly, just select the best plywood on the market to be used as bottoms to the shelves. Professionally built extendable shelves have 9-ply, ½-inch Baltic birch that bottoms. This plywood is strong and works well up to a certain width (about 30 inches). It’s a bit expensive, but you need the best to do the best.

Instructions

Measure the opening of the cabinet door where you plan to install extendable shelves. Read the instructions that accompany the box slip you chose for this project and reduce shelf width accordingly. Cut the front and back pieces of the drawing kitchen shelving units from one of 6-inch timber. Subtract the thickness of the front and back materials from the total depth of the shelf and cut two sides of the same material.

Apply a strict adhesive on the front and rear edges of the shell in the kitchen shelving units material. Place them between the front and the rear (at each end) and attach the four pieces to each other with 8-pin surface nails. Clean up excess glue with a damp cloth. Set nail heads with a nail set. Determine the width and length of the extendable shelf frame and cut a piece of ½ inch plywood to this size with a table saw or circular saw. Put some glue on the edges of the shelf, place ½ inch plywood on it and attach it to the frame with 1¼ inch or screws. Clean up excess glue with a damp cloth.
